Account lockout?

This information relates to your SOCSCI account (your department account). If your account is locked out, what to do depends on when your account was created.

If you are a student or member of staff whose account was created from October 2019 onwards your SOCSI account is syncrhonised with your SSO account - you will need to use the IT Services password reset process: https://help.it.ox.ac.uk/oxford-username-and-sso 

If your account was created prior to the start of the 2019/20 academic year (or you are a member of admin staff in the Law Faculty) you will need to contact the Manor Road helpdesk to reset your password.

If you've entered your password incorrectly 5 times in succession your account will be locked for a default period of 10 minutes. You may either wait 10 minutes for your account to unlock or contact the Manor Road IT Helpdesk to reset your password.

If you are attempting to print at a printer in the Manor Road Building or at 42 Park End Street (Sociology) to a Canon Multi-Function Printer and your password will be your Barcode Number from your University card. You will only need to use this once.
